YOGA WINTER RETREAT

YOGA WINTER RETREAT

Dear Esteemed Yogis,

A few days ago, Chris and I were at a photo shooting for our upcoming teacher trainings and we decided to start the preparations for our next retreat. We couldn’t help but smile with excitement as we remembered the previous retreat — seeing you explore your practice, support each other, and embrace the challenges on the mat reminded us why we create this space: a sanctuary for growth, connection, and self-discovery.

Last year, we welcomed you into the theme of Roots of Resilience (Dhṛti), exploring how we cultivate strength that carries us through life’s challenges — not only on the mat but beyond it. Before that, our first retreat introduced Strength & Grace (Sthira Bhaga), where we celebrated the union of steadiness and ease, discovering balance, poise, and presence in each posture and moment.

This year, we are excited to announce the next step in this journey:

The Fire of Tapas.

Tapas (तपस्), in the yogic tradition, is the inner fire that ignites transformation. It is the force that purifies, refines, and strengthens — burning away what no longer serves us, making our bodies and minds malleable, like metal shaped under intense heat. Tapas is essential in yoga; it is the discipline and conscious effort that fuels growth, deepens practice, and sustains vitality through the changing seasons. Like a hearth in winter, fire keeps us warm, resilient, and alive, reminding us that transformation is not just about effort, but about presence, awareness, and dedication.

During this retreat, we will explore how to awaken and channel your Tapas through asana, pranayama, meditation, and intentional practices. Together, we will cultivate strength, clarity, and fluidity — refining our personal practice while nurturing a deeper connection to our life force, prāṇa. This is an invitation to step fully into your inner fire, to embrace the transformative power of discipline and conscious effort, and to experience the freedom that comes from working with the fire within.
